    How to apply work visa?

     

    Who needs working visa?

    Chinese working visa is issued to foreigners who are going to work in China for a paid job with a signed employment contract with a company/institute/school in China, but foreigners who have green card are exceptions. 

     

    China work visa types:

    1.      Classification of foreigner work visas
    • Class A – High-end talents: scientists, science and technology leaders, international entrepreneurs, special special talents, etc., which are urgently needed for China's economic and social development, are “high-end and sharp-minded” foreign high-end talents.
    • Class B - Professionals: In line with the foreigner's job guidance catalogue and job requirements, it is a foreign professional who is in urgent need of China's economic and social development.
    • Category C - General Talent: According to national policies, quota management is implemented.
    Required qualifications for foreign professionals (Class B)

     

    Class B is the highest proportion of foreigners coming to China, and is also the most common.
    (1) Normally, the applicant must have both:
    • Bachelor degree or above
    • 2 years
    and above related work experience and under 60 years old

    (2) A work experience requirement may be waived if one of the following conditions is met:
    • Excellent graduates with master's degree or above in universities in China;
    • Or obtain a master's degree or above from the top 100 universities outside the country;
    • To obtain a bachelor's degree or above in education, language, or teacher education, or to obtain a teacher qualification certificate in your home country or to obtain a TEFL certificate in accordance with the international language.

    (3) Professionals with a score of 60 or more points can be exempted from academic qualifications.

     

    What documents will be required for the working visa of class B

     

    Requirements and documents and procedures are slightly different for non Chinese working visa holder and Chinese working visa holder, please read the information, separately.

     

    •  Required documents for non working visa potential overseas employees

    1. Actual Passport­ (photocopy of the name page) and better still valid over6 months

    2. Original bachelors degree or higher diploma (make sure it’s diploma or degree, not the degree transcript)

    3. Degree authentication (Please contact us for more details)

    4. Original official police clearance certificate (PCC) (or called Non-Criminal Record) from your home country and authentication of your Non-Criminal Record (Please contact us for more detail)

     Degree authentication and Non-Criminal Record authentication are required to first achieve the notarization letter from the relevant government department or organization and then verify this notarization letter at one of the Chinese embassy in your home country.

    5. Original physical examination record (School will email the format to you and let you know how to do this health check)

    6. Digital photo (Pure White background, 390pixel Width *520pixel Height in the computer/ 33mm (wide) x 48mm (tall) in size. Photo needs to be taken within 6 months.)

    7. Resume (with education history and at least 2 years working experience after graduation)

    8. Reference letter from any foreign company after your graduation

    9. Employment contract with your potential employer.

    What is the procedure of working visa

    Step 1: Prepare the documents listed above

    Step 2: Send the copies of the documents to your potential employer

    Step 3: Your potential employer will process the work permit invitation letter for you (about 2-3weeks)

    Step 4: Apply 30 days entrance work visa from Chinese embassy with these your passport, visa photo, physical examination report, and work permit invitation letter and visa application form. Copies of work permit will be acceptable and you can download the visa application form from the websites of Chinese embassy.

    Step 5: Transfer your 30 days entrance work visa to around 12 months residential work permit after your arrival to China

    Process of residential work permit in China under the assisting of your employer

    1. To do an accommodation registration at the nearest policeman station where you stay. (The small policeman security inspection spot does not provide this document.)

    2. To do another physical examination report under the guidance of your school/company.

    3. Apply residential work permit at Policeman Security Bureau with your passport, work permit, accommodation registration and physical examination.


    • Required documents for working visa transferring

    When you are going to work for another school/company in China and you are holding working visa from your previous employer. You’d better to transfer your working visa to the new school/company 4 weeks in advance.

    The required documents for transferring will be including the documents mentioned for the new applicants, plus, you need to prepare these documents listed below:

    1.      Release letter from your previous employer

    2.      Recommendation letter from your previous employer (Please contact us for the government standard recommendation letter format.)

    3.      Copy of your work permit card

    4.      Your latest accommodation registration within3 months valid period.

    Usually it will take about 3-4 weeks to transfer the work visa to the new employer's .But you’d better to start your processing as early as you can.
